2021 Linda A. Day Endowed Student Award Recipient
Born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Long Beach, California, Masie Love combines two lifelong interests: painting, and an urge to work with her hands. Currently pursuing a BFA in drawing and painting at California State University, Long Beach, she is open to commissions as well as selling her existing work, which can be seen on her Instagram page at the link below. She expects her own website will be operational later this year.
Her participation in Insights 2021 at CSULB is her first show; receiving the Linda A. Day Endowed Scholarship is her first award.

Artist Statement
In my paintings I am seeking to create worlds in which blackness does not determine one’s quality of life. My work depicts imagined landscapes, figures and emotions which are challenged by abstraction and color.
